$35 - Advance registration and payment required,
Class size limited to 5
To register, please call (937) 847-8787. Kayak, paddle and PFD provided or bring your own equipment. Learn the basics about kayaks, spending part of the class on the water. (Weather permitting). Learn about paddling etiquette, proper safety equipment and getting started. Learn the principles of paddling, various strokes, and maneuvers. Dress to get wet. These classes are held on area ponds. Specific location will be disclosed to registrants.

Join in and enjoy our Thursday Paddle Floats down the Great Miami River. Paddle down our local waterway from West Carrollton to downtown Miamisburg. It's a relaxing 5.5 mile "moving water" trail through the urban wilderness. This trip usually takes between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. If you've never seen the river from this perspective, you're in for a treat. You'll have a good chance to spot various wildlife including great blue herons, beavers, red-tailed hawks and more. Afterwards, stop in at one of the local downtown Miamisburg restaurants.

Get ready for the Best in Dayton Series #6 at Buck Creek State Park DGC on the 21st of August. Beautiful park - front 13 wooded and technical. Back 6 open up with a beautiful view of lake and marina. Camping available 1 mile away. Course redisgned in Aug/Sept. 2009. From Dayton OH - Take I-70 east to Rte. 40. Head North off exit, 2.5 miles to Bird Rd. Take right on Bird Rd and go 2.5 miles(turns into park). In park, turn right past park office to 1st left past Marina entrance. 1st tee at mouth of woods at 2nd parking lot on right.

4th Annual
Freemont Paddling Festival
Starts at 9:00 AM
Catch up with old friends and make a few new ones at the 4th Annual Fremont Paddling Festival on the Great Miami River, which always has plenty of water. Come for the 5-mile recreational float, or the 10 and 19-mile flatwater races, and stay for the events and workshops on Saturday afternoon. Free camping will be available at the Festival site- Riverfront West- in Miamitown on Saturday night, with family restaurants and local night life close by. Join us- you'll have fun and be supporting Ohio's statewide river conservation and recreation organization.
